Overview
Pediatrics Overview
Our pediatric group is comprised of many wonderful pediatricians to choose from spread across the West Los Angeles area. We operate out of three offices in Playa Vista, Santa Monica, and Pacific Palisades. We care for children from newborn through 18 years of age, for both well and sick visits. We take care of immediate and urgent needs of our patients and partner with parents so they may raise strong and healthy children. Taking care of children and their families is what we do best.
We believe parents want what’s best in raising a healthy and mindful child, and we hope to instill in parents the knowledge to do so. We hope to work with you in taking a team approach to care for your child.

Well Child Exams Overview
At each well child visit, children are evaluated for their physical, social, and emotional well-being. We will track your child’s development and growth at each visit including how they are doing with their sleep, diet, exercise, schooling, and dental care. A complete history will include any medical, surgical, and family history and a thorough physical examination is performed. The well child visit is a great opportunity to ask any questions regarding your child’s health and receive anticipatory guidance. Should you need any referrals or recommendations, we will provide your family the right resources.
We follow the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) schedule for well child examinations which include the following milestones:
- 2-3 days
- 2 weeks
- 1 Month
- 2 Month
- 4 Months
- 6 Months
- 9 Months
- 12 Months
- 15 Months
- 18 Months
- 2 Years
- 2.5 Years
- 3 Years
- 4 Years and Older
Same Day Sick Visits Overview
As pediatricians with children of our own, we understand your child may suddenly develop an illness that requires immediate attention. Our pediatric practices offer same day sick visits. We recommend calling ahead for an appointment or scheduling one on your MyChart portal so you can see a pediatrician as soon as you arrive.
Newborn Care Overview
We are so excited to welcome new babies to our office!
Our pediatricians see newborns at Providence Saint John’s Health Center and other local hospitals. Whether you deliver at one of these hospitals or another neighboring hospital, please let the hospital staff know which of our pediatricians you have selected and their practice location. When your baby is born, the hospital staff will notify our office and one of our pediatricians will see your newborn within 24 hours, and each subsequent day you are in the hospital.
Once you are discharged from the hospital, please call the office to schedule the newborn exam which normally occurs 2-3 days after discharge. Don’t forget to contact your insurance company to add your child to your plan. Insurance companies typically give you up to 30 days after the birth of your child to add them to your plan.
During your newborn’s first visit, we will work with you to plan future well child examinations.
Routine Immunizations Overview
Vaccinations help children develop immunity, and thus protection, against specific diseases. Vaccines will trigger your child’s immune system to produce antibodies to fight pathogens or germs that cause certain diseases. Vaccinations help not only to protect your child from a potential infection, but they help reduce the chances of infection by minimizing the spread in a community.
The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that all children be vaccinated. Please see the AAP guidelines for childhood and adolescent vaccinations below:
Screenings Overview
Vision and Hearing
These are completed in children 4 years and older. The Playa Vista office has an iSCREEN digital vision screening tool to evaluate vision in children 1-3 years of age.
Well Child
At each well child visit, vitals including height, weight, blood pressure, heart rate, and respiratory rate are taken.
Postpartum Depression
We use the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale to screen mothers with postpartum mood disorders at the 1 month and 2 month infant visit.
Modified Checklist for Autism in Toddlers
A developmental screening assessment to identify children at risk for autism and other developmental delays at the 18 month and 24 month visit.
Mental Health in Adolescents
The Patient Health Questionnaire PHQ2 is completed on all adolescents, age 12 and older, to screen for depression. Further assessment and referral are completed if screening is positive.
Tuberculosis
A Tuberculosis risk assessment is completed to determine any exposure to Tuberculosis. If positive, a Tuberculosis Skin Test is recommended.
In-office Procedures Overview
There are various procedures performed in our clinic that include:
- Ear Piercings
- Nebulizer Treatments
Complimentary Prenatal Interviews Overview
We offer complimentary prenatal consultations to expecting parents.
Our pediatricians are happy to answer all your questions during an in-person or phone appointment before the big day.
On Call Service Overview
Nursing Line
We provide an on-call complimentary service after hours and on the weekends to assist with any urgent or emergency care needs. Please call our office number and you will be directed to the on-call staff. Our nursing staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and we have a pediatrician available if further assistance is needed. If the incident is a life-threatening emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency center.
MyChart
Our MyChart online portal has an email messaging service you can use to reach a pediatrician or staff member for non-urgent questions.

You can expect a response within 2-3 days.
Sports & Sports Camp Physicals Overview
Our pediatricians routinely complete sports and camp physicals. Physicals are important to determine if your child has any health concerns that would affect their playing certain sports. We can carry out the physical during a routine well child exam; we can also fill out the physical verification form after a well child exam. In most cases, we can fill out the forms as long as a well child exam has occurred within a year of the request.
