About Amy Shapiro, MD
Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, Amy M. Shapiro, MD, has been in her pediatric practice since 2004. As a Los Angeles native, she was excited to return to her hometown after earning her medical degree from the Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine & Science in North Chicago, Illinois. 
While in residency with the UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, California, Dr. Shapiro traveled to Guatemala and Africa as part of medical missions to provide high-quality health care in rural communities. She loves working with families, and she cherishes the opportunity to keep kids healthy and help them feel better when they’re sick. 
Dr. Shapiro has many passions outside of pediatrics, including hiking in the Santa Monica mountains, hiking Mount Whitney, and listening to live music. She also loves traveling the world when she gets the chance. But when not with patients, she and her husband mostly enjoy chasing after their two active sons, Mack and Bruce.
Dr. Shapiro always remembers my kids, even though they really only see her for their well-child visits each year. She’s personable, easy to talk to and positive. I am extremely satisfied with our continued pediatric care from Dr. Shapiro. In addition, the assistants are always friendly, thorough and professional. Only positive feedback here!!

Dr. Shapiro was amazing, as always. She knew my child's medical history even though it was at a different medical practice, and asked about a medical detail that even I'd forgotten. We left our old practice to come back to Dr. Shapiro and it was such a good decision! My only complaint was how long it took to fill out the "new patient" paperwork even though I'd already filled it out for my son and we'd previously been patients AND I'd completed all the intake forms available online ahead of the appointment.

Care provider was amazing. In one visit, easily gave me referrals and hope for solving problems that were the cause of leaving our last health insurance providers. THANK YOU! My only criticism is the location of the eye exam -- it was hard for my sensory-sensitive kid to hear and concentrate on the nurse's questions with the newborn being weighed just feet behind him in the small hallway.
