About Caroline (Mimi) Shim, MD  

Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, Caroline Mimi Shim, MD, an east coast native who grew up in New Jersey, earned her undergraduate degree in Neurobiology at the University of Pennsylvania. She went on to earn her medical degree at the UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in Piscataway, New Jersey. Dr. Shim completed her internship and pediatric residency at the New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York City, where she served as assistant chief resident during her last year. She has been practicing in the Palisades area since 2001.   

Dr. Shim loves being a pediatrician and feels very blessed to have the opportunity to provide the highest quality care for the children of the Palisades and surrounding communities. She believes a pediatrician’s role is to care for the child as a whole and advocate for the child and her or his family. Dr. Shim enjoys promoting healthy habits nutritionally, physically, emotionally, and socially, which builds happy children with healthy minds and bodies.   

Dr. Shim lives in Santa Monica with her husband, spinal surgeon Dr. Hyun Bae, their three beautiful daughters, and their dog, Elvis. She enjoys running, swimming, golfing, tennis, travel, and spending time with her family.
