Overview

When you have mental health concerns it’s sometimes hard to know where to turn to get help.

You don’t need to suffer alone. Your first call should be to your primary care physician (PCP), who knows your medical history and supports your health goals. Your PCP can drill down to the issues bothering you such as family issues, stress, depression, insomnia or anxiety, and can prescribe medications for many common mental health issues or refer you to a therapist if needed.

At Saint John’s Physician Partners, our PCPs are experts at screening for and treatment of mental health issues. Our collaborative care model involves coordination of care with a therapist, and psychiatrist for medication management. The good news is that mental health conditions are treatable and we can help.

PROVIDENCE HEALTH SYSTEM
MISSION AND PROMISE

At Saint John’s Physician Partners we know that emotional wellbeing is as important as physical wellbeing. To support the mental health of our patients, we have integrated Behavioral Health Specialists into our primary care settings. In this proven model, the Behavioral Health Specialist can partner with your regular doctor to address symptoms like depression and anxiety right in the primary care setting. Through short term therapy, consultation with a psychiatrist, and medication treatment when appropriate, the
Behavioral Health Integrated team can work with your primary care doctor to make sure you get the treatment you need.
