Types of Injections

There are different types of injections that can be used to treat pain. Procedures are performed in the physician’s office under local anesthesia, and they are administered directly in the joints, bursas and/or around the tendons. In some cases, joint aspiration is required to remove fluid from a swollen joint which can help relieve symptoms and determine the cause of the swelling.

The different types of injections used in our office are: corticosteroids or cortisoneHyaluronic acid, lidocaine and Traumeel and Zeel, all of which can provide extended pain relief from arthritis, bursitis or tendonitis.
