About Ted Hak, MD
Ted J. Hak, MD, has had a long relationship with the city of Santa Monica. He has lived and practiced medicine in Santa Monica since 1980. 
After serving as the Medical Director of an urgent care center for two years, Dr. Hak co-founded Santa Monica Family Physicians in 1985. The group maintained offices in Santa Monica for over 25 years before becoming affiliated with the UCLA Medical Center. Many members of the practice reunited again as Santa Monica Family Physicians in 2017, when they joined the Providence Medical Institute and the Saint John’s Health Center. Dr. Hak’s focus is on wellness for both his patients and himself, and he has not missed a day of work due to illness for over two decades. 
Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, Dr. Hak MD completed his medical training at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He interned at Providence St. John’s Health Center in Santa Monica and completed his residency at UCLA Medical Center in Santa Monica.
When not working with his patients, Dr. Hak maintains an active lifestyle enjoying both water skiing and snow skiing, as well as golfing. His wife is on a ski patrol in Big Bear, so they spend many winter weekends in the mountains. He always looks forward to spending time with his family members, who all reside in the Santa Monica area.

I received immediate care for a recent experience with abdominal pain. Dr. Hak was clearly concerned with gaining pertinent information regarding my condition and history. I make the appointment, come down, get the blood test, talk with the doctor who gives me some simple tests, ( vision, memory etc) checks me out with a stethoscope,, asks me some questions about my state f health, we chat, and then he leaves, I get teh blood test and I'm gone...sweet and simple.. Everything was satisfactory the only challenge was getting them in the phone when I called , I called 4-5 times to be able to speak someone . But once you are on the phone until checkout everyone seems very organized and disciplined. Dr.Hak is awesome

Well . . . I had hip pain. Dr. Suggested lumbar x-ray for arthritis, which (x-ray) turned out normal. I still think the problem is hip joint, but I will bring that up at next appointment in six weeks. I do think it is arthritis, but hip, not lumbar. In any case, Dr.'s arthritis advice in the meanwhile was okay. So nothing to "complain" about. I trust he'll follow up next appt.
