About Daniel Shahrouz Ganjian, MD

Daniel Shahrouz Ganjian MD loves science and helping people. He was only six years old when he knew that he wanted to help people through science. He has a special interest in fighting childhood obesity with his pediatric expertise and as a certified personal trainer. He evaluates patients for risk of obesity and diabetes during every sick or well visit in his practice in Santa Monica. He also speaks to teenagers at local schools to encourage them to take control of their physical health. Dr. Ganjian has also been found in the aisles of local grocery stores educating shoppers on making healthier choices as part of the Providence St. Joseph Health Southern California’s wellness program.

Dr. Ganjian received a Bachelor’s degree with highest honors from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a medical degree from the University of California in Irvine. He completed his internship training in Pediatrics with an emphasis in obesity at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and did his Pediatric residency at the Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital in New York. He is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society; a designation given to just 10 percent of American physicians.

The patient comments that show up most often for Dr. Ganjian are “very caring” and “listens.” He says, “As a pediatrician, I love being able to decipher what is wrong with babies without them telling me. I am a detective and mind reader.” He makes certain that each patient leaves their office visit with a personalized prescription for good health.

At one point Dr. Ganjian played with the Brooklyn Philharmonic Orchestra and performed at the Rose Bowl so it comes as no surprise to learn that he loves playing his trumpet when not in the office. He is fluent in four languages, enjoys playing with his young children, and spending time with his wife.

Dr Ganjian always provides the best care to my children and looks out for their health and takes necessary precautions to make sure my kids stay healthy and reiterates what I tell my kids about computer time, family time etc. very caring doctor.

Dr. Ganjian went out of his way to accommodate my family who was visiting from out of town and seen my daughter to diagnose her with roseola and give me a piece of mind and a plan forward for her treatment. He waited while I was stuck in the traffic in the rain and he still made the time to listen to me carefully and be as courteous and patient as one can be. He was extremely professional, extremely knowledgeable with a very calm demeanor.
