About Przemyslaw Twardowski, MD
Przemyslaw W. Twardowski MD gets the utmost satisfaction when his sick patients get better and start enjoying their lives again. So, it is no wonder to his patients that he has been selected as one of America’s Top Doctors multiple times.
Dr. Twardowski understands the need for heroes, and he had several growing up, including both his parents and his grandfather. They were all physicians, so no one was surprised by his choice to pursue medicine with this family tradition. He credits his father the most for instilling great interest and excitement in his pursuit of excellence in science and medicine. 
Currently a Professor of Medical Oncology, he is a practicing oncologist at the Department of Genitourinary Oncology at the Saint John’s Cancer Institute at Providence Saint John’s Health in Santa Monica. He has vast experience managing genitourinary malignancies, including prostate, kidney, bladder, and testicular cancers. Over the last twenty years, he was a principal investigator and contributor to multiple clinical trials that expanded treatment options for patients with cancers of the genitourinary tract. 
Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Medical Oncology, Dr. Twardowski has practiced medicine in California for over twenty years and is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology. He is passionate about providing state-of-the-art cancer treatments, and he always takes each patient’s unique circumstances and values into consideration when creating their individualized plan. 
Besides his state-of-the-art cancer care, he is also a medical oncology professor and has years of experience in oncology and therapeutics research. He has been awarded multiple grants and received numerous awards, first as a student and then as an oncologist and researcher. 
Dr. Twardowski earned his medical degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine in Columbia, Missouri. He was Chief Resident in the Department of Internal Medicine at McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, where he completed his internship, residency, and fellowship. Dr. Twardowski then spent nineteen years at the City of Hope National Medical Center. He started as a staff physician, progressed to Clinical Professor of Medical Oncology, and he is now bringing his expertise to Providence Saint John’s Health. 
When he is not at the office, you may find Dr. Twardowski enjoying a wide array of hobbies, including playing the piano, swimming, flying a single-engine plane, or just relaxing at home.
