About Peter Pak, MD
Peter H. Pak, MD, specializes in consultative cardiology with emphasis on cardiomyopathy and heart failure. He joined Pacific Heart Institute from Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he was an Assistant Professor on the Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplantation Faculty. Dr. Pak served as Medical Director of Critical Care at Saint John’s Health Center, and he currently serves on its Cardiovascular Quality Improvement Committee. He has authored many articles in highly respected, peer-reviewed cardiology journals.
After graduating from Johns Hopkins University with Honors in Biology, Dr. Pak earned his medical degree at Harvard Medical School in Boston. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital. During his cardiology fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital, he won an American College of Cardiology/Merck Fellowship award for clinical research.
Originally from the east coast, Dr. Pak loves living in sunny Southern California where he can indulge in his favorite pastimes of birding, hiking, and photography year-round. He is the proud dad of two Eagle Scouts, and he continues to volunteer his time with Santa Monica’s Boy Scout Troop 2.
