About Mia Di Julio, MD
Mia S. Di Julio, MD, is passionate about providing comprehensive care for women at every stage of life. She went into medicine because she wanted the opportunity to connect with and serve her community. She believes that talking with her patients and learning about their lives is a collaboration that helps them achieve optimal health through education, prevention, and treatment. She applies a compassionate and intuitive approach to patient care, and she views each patient and treats them as a whole.
As a physician, Dr. Di Julio is grateful for the opportunity to guide and support women through some of the most sensitive, vulnerable, and exciting moments in their lives. Obstetrics/Gynecology is a unique specialty that allows her to form relationships with each patient while providing customized primary care, preventive care, surgical options, and delivery of their babies.
Dr. Di Julio has a particular interest and expertise in pregnancy and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. She is a recipient of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists Award for Excellence in Minimally Invasive Surgery. Dr. Di Julio is dedicated to performing innovative procedures using the latest science and technology. She also manages fertility, family planning, and menopause, along with a wide range of gynecologic issues, including ovarian cysts, fibroids, and abnormal bleeding.
Dr. Di Julio earned a BS with High Honors and Distinction and a master’s degree in Molecular Biology from the University of California in Santa Barbara. She received her medical degree from The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. She completed her Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at Harbor UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, where her colleagues awarded her for excellence in teaching three years in a row.
During medical training, Dr. Di Julio had the opportunity to work with small, rural, underserved communities in the Dominican Republic. She volunteered for “Medical Students in Action” and served as their Director of Logistics, and then as the Medical Student Director. Under her leadership, the organization provided continuous medical care to multiple communities and collaborated with local health care workers. They also planned and managed clinics with various medical medical services, including Dermatology, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Pediatrics, and Cardiology. In the United States, she has continued giving back to the underserved communities where she has lived (Los Angeles, Miami, and the Florida Keys), providing OB-GYN care.
Dr. Di Julio is a Los Angeles native living in Venice who speaks both English and Spanish. When not with patients, she enjoys hiking and experiencing new cultures and cuisines with her husband and daughter. And she also enjoys reading for relaxation.
