About Manali Shendrikar, MD
If you were to ask Manali A. Shendrikar, MD who her most significant role model was, she would tell you it was her late mother, a foreign medical graduate from India that became a family physician. Dr. Shendrikar remembers her mom coming home from seeing patients all day and coming home to cook her family a fresh, homemade dinner every night. She showed her daughter by example that she could do anything in life and still balance her family and career. With three young children of her own, Dr. Shendrikar is doing just that.
Family is important to her—all families. She loves taking care of generations of families and often counts multiple family members as patients. When not working with her patients, Dr. Shendrikar enjoys working out. She has snorkeled some of the most picturesque beaches in Mexico and Thailand, and she hopes to someday climb Machu Picchu in Peru, which is a dream she shared with her late mother.
Dr. Shendrikar’s patients should not be surprised if they walk into a comedy club somewhere in Los Angeles and see their doctor up on stage performing stand-up comedy. In high school and college, she was part of Bloomers, an all-female comedy troupe. Dr. Shendrikar had to set aside her comedic aspirations to focus on attending medical school, but she recently began performing again. So, on stage and off, she hopes to keep all her patients smiling.
Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, Dr. Shendrikar received her medical degree from the University of Texas, Health Science Center in San Antonio. She completed both her internship and residency at the UCLA Medical Center in Santa Monica, California.
Dr Shendrikar is so supportive, smart and responds to health issue SO quickly. I can’t think of even one thing that needs improvement. I would recommend her to anyone I know.

She spends a lot of time with us and explains things so that we understand. She listens to us and always shows her concern for our problems. I went to an urgent care at first, on Dr. Shendrikar's advice, but was told that nothing was wrong with a foot that was hurting me for reasons I didn't know, for I had not injured it. As I sensed something was still wrong after that visit, I made an appointment with Dr. Shendrikar and she quickly managed to fit me in to a full schedule. One quick look at my foot and she saw that I had a severe case of athlete's foot, gave me a prescription and the problem was quickly resolved. Both the doctor I saw at the urgent center and his assistant completely missed this!!!
