About Lauren Cadish, MD

A Los Angeles native, Lauren A. Cadish, MD is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in both Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery and in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is a strong patient advocate, believes in the importance of listening to her patients, never pushing elective surgery, and meticulously answering all questions prior to surgery.

As a urogynecologist, Dr. Cadish focuses her efforts on evaluating, educating, and treating women with pelvic organ prolapse, urinary and fecal incontinence, fistula, and other pelvic floor disorders. The vast majority of her surgical procedures use minimally invasive techniques due to her vaginal, laparoscopic, and robotic surgery training.

Dr. Cadish earned her medical degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. She completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. She pursued three additional years of training with a fellowship at the University of California Irvine Medical Center in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery, to become a specialist in pelvic floor disorders. Following her fellowship, she came to Santa Monica to start the Urogynecology program within the Providence Specialty Medical Group.

Dr. Cadish’s research interests include evaluating surgical procedures for incontinence and prolapse, optimal surgical teaching, and health policy.  She was in the inaugural class of the NIH-funded Clinical Research Educational Scientist Training (CREST) program administered by Duke University and the American Urogynecologic Society. She is currently pursuing a Masters of Applied Science in Healthcare Quality and Patient Safety at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

Dr. Cadish speaks Spanish and wants to ensure that Spanish-speaking patients can communicate with their physician and surgeon in their native language. La Dra. Cadish habla español y quiere asegurar de que las pacientes hispanohablantes puedan comunicarse con su médica y cirujana en su primera lengua.

In her free time, she enjoys listening to National Public Radio, literary fiction, cooking, and spending time with family, including her husband and two young sons.
