About Daina Danovitch, MD

It was a natural choice for American Board of Family Medicine certified Daina A. Danovitch, MD, to go into medicine. After all, she had two heroes growing up that helped light the path for her. Her grandmother was a general practitioner and her mother is a pediatrician, making her a third-generation female physician.

Dr. Danovitch grew up helping both her mother and grandmother in their offices and going on rounds in the hospital with them. Her close relationship with her grandmother influenced her choice to specialize in geriatrics, in addition to family medicine.

Dr. Danovitch earned her medical degree from the UCLA Geffen School of Medicine in Los Angeles, and she completed her internship and residency at the Mount Sinai Beth Israel Medical Center in New York. She went on to complete her fellowship in the UCLA VA Geriatric Fellowship Program in Los Angeles.

What Dr. Danovitch loves most about her life as a physician is getting to know her patients, helping them to achieve their medical goals, and learning from their life experiences.

Her favorite vacation is going home to Chicago where she grew up, spending time with her parents and five siblings. In her spare time, when not on vacation, Dr. Danovitch likes to hike, especially the Westridge trail in the Santa Monica Mountains. She also enjoys cooking, and she is making a point of incorporating more of the healthy and delicious Mediterranean diet into family meals. Her signature dish is teriyaki salmon steamed in foil and served with sesame cabbage — a healthy dish her kids love.

Dr Danovitch is the best physician I have ever had. She is excellent with interpreting test results, Rx, and supplements, excellent results from her knowledge and understanding of chemistry and its relationship with the patient’s body chemistry.

This was my very first appointment with this provider. Every aspect was positive but it made some questions hard to answer without portraying a negative connotation. I had a situation that felt urgent and she treated it as such and I appreciate that very much
