About Dina Bierman, MD
Dr. Dina Bierman is a board-certified Mohs surgeon and dermatologist with fellowship training in cosmetic surgery, reconstructive plastic surgery, laser surgery and Mohs skin cancer surgery. A recognized opinion leader, Dr. Bierman uses a multidisciplinary approach to provide her patients with unparalleled expertise in skin cancer treatment, plastic reconstruction and cosmetic surgery. Known for delivering personable and compassionate care, she loves utilizing a holistic approach and her skills in cosmetic surgery to improve the result of her patients’ surgeries.
As a fourth-generation physician, her earliest memories are of following her parents in the hospital on weekend rounds or discussing interesting cases over dinner. Her mother taught her the importance of treating people with respect, love and compassion, and she brings these qualities in caring for her patients.
Before joining SJPP, Dr. Bierman completed her undergraduate and graduate studies at UCLA. She began her career with a full-time faculty position at UCLA, where she enjoyed a mix of patient care, teaching and research. During her tenure, Dr. Bierman was awarded the prestigious Faculty of the Year Award and received numerous other accolades for her clinical skills and services.
Dr. Bierman is an active member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American College of Mohs Surgeons and the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery. She has published her research in leading medical journals, including the Journal of American Academy of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery.
Despite her busy schedule, Dr. Bierman remains a dedicated educator. She is an assistant clinical professor of dermatology at the University of California Irvine and teaches Mohs and reconstructive surgery at the VA Hospital. Dr. Bierman volunteers at the Venice Family Clinic, where she teaches UCLA residents and medical students while providing medical care for underserved and uninsured patients.
When abroad, Dr. Bierman often spends her time volunteering at medical and surgical clinics in Costa Rica, Mexico and Nicaragua.
