A visit to the Nashua Children’s Home!
First of all, allow us to apologize
for sending the invitations out so late. It is too easy to put something
off for a day, and the next thing you know, two weeks has gone by. But God
is good and we had 8 Change the Worlder’s to
go with. Thank you all.
Second of all, let us thank God for
the youth in this parish. They are such an inspiration and a great gift from
God. All of our CTW events have been blessed ones and this was no exception.
St. Joseph’s has been so blessed, we just praise God.
Well, remember
last time
, where we played kickball? Yup, we did that again. There were some kids
there that we remembered, but there were also several new faces. There is
something about playing with kids that age that is just rewarding. They are
happy when they are happy and mad when they are mad and sad when they are
sad. They were very happy to see us arrive and sad to see us leave and sometimes
mad if they made an “out” during the kickball game. The
CTW’s are so patient and kind to the kids.
After kickball, we got into a soccer
game, and some of our CTW’s can really play that
game.
After that, we passed out chocolate
Easter bunnies that were immediately opened and eaten. Yum!
The CTW’ers
got into a circle afterwards, as usual, and talked about the experience
and how we felt about it and decided to pick one NCH kid and pray for them
each day this week and enter a prayer request into a prayer basket to be
brought up this coming Easter Sunday so that the whole congregation can pray
for the kids. This does not have to be anything fancy, maybe just “Thank
you God for the gift of _____. May you bless him/her and keep watch over
him/her and keep all of the children at the NCH safe.”
Many thanks to all who helped make
this such a fun event, and to all of you have remembered us in your prayers.
And most especially to the CTW members who are seeing the difference one
person can make when guided by the Holy Spirit. Little by little, the world
changes for the better.
If you see a member of Change the World,
talk to them about the service that they are involved in. Pray with them,
pray with others for them. Ask that the hand of God be with them.
